Voice of the City is a vocal competition for singers of ages 8 to 18 (or 19 years old if still in high school). Contestants audition with the song of their choice before a panel of judges. Singers with the highest preliminary scores become finalists for the live show. Finalists sing in front of New York City talent agent, Nancy Carson, and several local judges. The Carson-Adler Agency has guided the early careers of such unique talents as Lea Michele, Leelee Sobieski, Cynthia Nixon, David Krumholtz, Donald Faison, Celia and Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Miscia Barton, Ariana Grande, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Britney Spears, to name a few. Contestants are also eligible to win prizes in their age group, and the grand prize of $1,000!
