Q: What is one of your favorite musical memories?
A: My dad and I used to play duets in church during Christmas and Easter when I was growing up. We also performed at the Gymanfa Ganu and Noson Lawen Welsh music festivals in a nearby community church. Once I graduated from college, we began performing concerts together. He played the trumpet and I accompanied him on the piano. He has always been one of my biggest inspirations.
Q: How long have you been with CCC? Do you have a favorite CCC memory?
A: This is my third year accompanying Columbus Children’s Choirs. My favorite memory is seeing the joy on the children’s faces when they are performing for their parents on stage.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love sweet red peppers!
Q: What is your favorite holiday and why?
A: My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love when everyone in our family is all together. I also enjoy baking for the holidays, listening to music and going to the Nutcracker.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling and being with my family.
Q: Is there any little known fact about you that you would like to share?
A: When I was in middle and high school, my dad would take me to Washington, D.C. to hear the U.S. Marine Band. I sat behind the brass section during rehearsals all day, every day for a week. My dad would either sit with me, play as a guest in the trumpet section or conduct them. I fell in love with the enormous, rich sound and was fascinated with the dialogue between the conductors and instrumentalists. Being a part of an ensemble experience is one of the reasons I enjoy accompanying Columbus Children’s Choirs!
