How to Audition for CCC

November 19, 2018Mary-Rebekah Fortman joined CCC in 2017 as the director of the Isabella choir. She teaches music at Hanby and Emerson Elementary Schools in Westerville and earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music with a Kodály emphasis from Capital University. While an undergraduate, she spent a semester at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary. Mary-Rebekah directs the Handbell Choir and Children’s Choir at Indianola Presbyterian Church. She has sung with the Capital University Choral Union, Lancaster Chorale and Fior Angelica. She is a member of the Ohio Music Educator’s Association and the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
Whew! That’s pretty impressive. Let’s get to know Mary-Rebekah a little better.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: ICE CREAM – anything with chocolate!
Q: Do you have a most memorable musical experience?
A: In 6th grade, I performed with the National OAKE choir in Hartford, CT!
Q: What’s your favorite holiday and why?
A: Thanksgiving because all of the family is together and I love spending time with family.
Q: What’s something surprising about you?
A: I’m a clogger! I took clogging lessons growing up.
